Doctor Of Nursing Practice
Enrollment in the training component of an advanced practice concentration (FNP or PMHNP) means that a student seeking an MSN degree is eligible to advance from core courses to complete the program of study. Applications for admission to the practicum component must be made during the semester in which the student must complete the core coursework.
The following criteria will be considered for admission to Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatry/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
After final GPA calculation, the graduate coordinator notifies students of application status at the end of the semester in which they applied. Upon admission to the advertised NP concentration, the student is expected to pursue a full or part-time degree program. Students who do not complete the degree program may lose their internship placement and must reapply for the stock concentration.

Graduate Nursing Programs
A current application includes full name, address, phone number, email address, educational background, degrees earned, honors, awards, history of special interests, and other required information.

Acceptance to the candidacy represents the decision of the graduate school board that the student should be allowed to complete the work for the degree. To be accepted for the Master’s degree candidacy, a student must submit a formal application to the graduate program coordinator after meeting the following candidacy requirements (Application for Master’s Degree Candidate).
To earn a graduate degree, a student must have a minimum cumulative average of 3.0 for graduate credit at a state university, and a minimum cumulative average of 3.0 in all work related to the degree.
Grades of “S” or “U” may be assigned only to specific courses for which this grading procedure is specified. These classes and grades of “I” are not used in calculating the grade point average because the student did not receive quality scores for these classes. When an “I” class is treated as a regular class, standardized scores are added and the student’s academic standing is adjusted to reflect the impact of the regular class.
A student may drop a course or courses or withdraw from an institution with a grade of “W” prior to the date specified in the official university calendar. After this date, the student cannot drop the course or leave the institution. After this date, in exceptional circumstances, the dean of academic affairs having jurisdiction may approve a withdrawal from the institution or drop the course with a grade of “W”. Anomalous events include dissatisfaction with expected quality or a decision to change major.
Direct Entry Ms In Nursing
Students enrolled in another graduate nursing program who wish to apply to the MSN program must be eligible to enroll in a graduate program that meets the graduate program requirements. Students may transfer credit from a regionally accredited college or university, provided that it does not exceed one-third of the total credit hours required for the degree program. They did not achieve a grade below B in the transferred courses; And, transfer credit applies to the degree program. Transfer credits are valid for six years to satisfy all MSN degree requirements. A transfer student must formally apply to the academic dean for graduate credit. Final approval for transfer credit is made by the student’s academic dean.
Students who wish to change concentrations in the MSN program must notify both the graduate coordinator and the graduate program at their institution. An updated degree plan must be prepared and approved by the Graduate Coordinator and submitted to the Graduate School.
