Hi Unilag does not accept applications from HND holders for most of its Pg courses. This is part of their policy. However, there are only 5 courses that allow higher HND with lower credit. They are: 1. MBA 2. Project Management 3. Biomedical Engineering 4. Marine Studies — gives lower credit – Maritime Environmental Studies – Maritime Communication and Navigation – Maritime Management and Administration 5. A student can study any course of their choice during the pre-study period, however this depends on the courses available at the University. Students attending pre-masters and masters degrees have the opportunity to stay in the UK for up to 2 years, and are entitled to a 2-year work permit after studying. This gives HND and third class students the opportunity to stay longer in the UK.
Students with an HND and a Third Class degree can go directly to a master’s degree in the UK, however, the program they are entitled to is an accelerated (extended) master’s. This is a 15-month master’s program and not all UK universities have direct master’s options for third-class and HND holders.
Courses open to HND and third-level graduates in UK universities are business administration courses, but very few universities allow HND and third-level graduates to study health, IT and engineering courses.
