Pet Friendly Motels In Oregon – We usually choose camping on our trips, but sleeping outside is not always possible. If it’s raining, we just want a comfortable bed and a shower, or just to explore the city for a change, we stay inside. Fortunately, Oregon loves its pets, and finding accommodations is not a daunting task. Below is a list of our pet hotels in Oregon.

We had never heard of Oregon Garden until we stayed there during our dog-friendly Willamette Valley wine tour. This beautiful Lodge features an 80-acre botanical garden and 20 different specialty gardens that showcase the diversity of the Willamette Valley and the Pacific Northwest.

Our favorite was the pet-friendly garden, which educates visitors about poisonous and non-poisonous pet plants. Oregon Gardens also has one of the oldest living oak trees in Oregon, a 400-year-old heritage tree in Oak Grove.

The resort’s cabins are spacious and comfortable rooms heated by a gas fireplace. Pets are welcome for a nominal fee in certain rooms and are welcome in the botanical garden and outside dining terrace. The resort also organizes social events, such as Friday morning yoga, which during our stay I was lucky enough to be the only participant.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever dreamed of living in a vintage trailer. Well now you can. Vintages Trailer Resort is quite possibly the most fun place to stay in the entire Willamette Valley. Of course, each of the 30 colorful vintage trailers has its own wires, cruiser bikes and bottle openers. Most importantly, they love dogs. During our visit, Sora received a goodie bag containing a tennis ball, a squeaky toy, dog treats and charDOGnay (yes, as in dog wine)! The resort is located near the dog park and within walking distance of the beloved wine village, Dayton. Not all trailers allow dogs, so be sure to ask when booking.

Our hostess, Jean, went above and beyond to accommodate our bikes, Sora and our vegan diet. An avid bike commuter himself, he’s biked across 33 states, so he knew our needs well when we hit the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. He made us feel at home from the start and let us store our bikes and trailer safely in the carriage house.

What he really scored was breakfast. He seated us and dropped plate after plate of food on our seats. We started with a large fruit salad topped with coconut cream, followed by a fruit-packed green smoothie, and ended with a bowl of quinoa porridge with toast and local jam, all accompanied by Steel Bridge Coffee – carefully selected coffee delivered by bicycle. He knew we had a long day ahead of us and sent us away with full stomachs for the duration of the trip.

The place is quiet and even outside the large rooms there is plenty of space to sit and read or work. The grounds are large and Century House is within walking distance of the university and downtown.

Located right on one of my favorite spots in the entire state, the McKenzie River Trail. With an RV park, tent areas, lodges, cabins and mountain cabins, there are accommodation options for every type of visit and budget. Hot springs are included in the price, and certain pools and hours are for guests only to avoid overcrowding. The 50 kilometer long McKenzie River Trail is accessible directly from the lodge.

Pet fee: Yes. $20 per pet, paid once per reservation for rooms, cabins and pet cabins, $10 per pet fee for tent sites.

But this is our favorite place we’ve ever stayed with Sora. Suttle Lodge not only welcomes dogs, it allows them to be dogs. During breakfast, a pack of friendly puppies run in and out of the cabin, under the table, at the feet and interrupting staff meetings. If you are not a dog lover, this might not be the hotel for you, but if you are traveling with your dog, this is the place.

Choose from a cabin or a cottage as a place to stay. I’ll be honest if you go on Trip Advisor you will find some less than positive reviews. We did not see the interior of the cabin other than the common area, and we never visited the original cabin. This appears to be a visitor issue. We were more than happy with our cabin, the staff and the overall experience.

You can rent paddle boards, canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes at the boat center, or you can choose a three-mile loop around the lake.

Rules: If your dog does not play well, you must keep him so that other dogs can enjoy freedom for years to come.

The Hood River Hotel dates back to 1888, when the city of Hood River was founded. Although the original hotel was demolished, the annex built in 1912 survived and has been welcoming guests ever since. Renovated a few times since its original construction, the hotel still retains its historic charm and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Located in downtown Hood River, walking distance to restaurants, cafes, breweries and shops. Our favorite spots in Hood River are by the river (Solstice and pFriem, both dog friendly), a bit of a longer walk, but definitely manageable. Also, in the summer you can walk in the middle of the Columbia River if the sand bar is gone. The water is like bathing water and when you reach the end you can jump under the water and cool off. Lots of hiking opportunities in all directions.

Let’s be honest, we haven’t stayed at Hotel Monaco, mainly because we already have a house in Portland, but I always had my eyes on this place! It is known as one of the most pet friendly hotels in the city. They even have a page on their website where they show what their pets are like. And if that’s not enough, they have a Pet Relationship Manager. She calls Addison and greets you with a wagging tail and kisses if you’re lucky.

Each pet is greeted by name, and pet parents can choose amenities such as a plush bed, bowl, and food. Guests receive a brochure detailing nearby pet-friendly establishments, and dogs are welcome to join their humans at the evening wine reception.

The Kennedy School is a neighborhood school-turned-hotel with a large swimming pool, a movie theater, and a variety of bars, a restaurant, and a brewery. We stayed here after a wedding and the hotel welcomed Sora with a food station and lots of things (by the way, all McMenamins hotels allow dogs!).

Located on a quiet street in NE Portland, but within walking distance to tons of bars, restaurants, and grocery stores along Killingsworth and Alberta (our favorite place for breakfast is Back to Eden. Don’t worry, if you’re not vegan, you won’t ‘ll even notice. Promise. I’m not just saying that. It’s true. Go. Try. Now.). Just a short walk away is Fernhill Park, a large park with a large dog area.

Rules: There are no size or weight restrictions or pet restrictions. Pets must always be on a leash in public spaces, and are not allowed in restaurants or bars. They cannot be left alone.

Located in downtown Bend, the Oxford Hotel is an “eco-chic” property dedicated to sustainability. Pets are more than welcome here and are welcome with an optional pet pack. The package includes a pet mattress, travel dog bowl, organic dog treats and a map of outdoor dog trails and parks. Other offerings include pet massage, grooming and dog walking services.

The on-site restaurant offers a wide selection of organic products at every meal, and guests can also enjoy local beers and wines at the bar.

McMenamins is always a great choice for pet-friendly accommodation in Oregon. Like the Kennedy School in Portland, Old St. Francis School is the second school in the renovation of the hotel. Completed in 1936, the Catholic school building became a hotel in 2004 and includes a pub, brewery, cinema and swimming pool.

To preserve the history of the school, Old St. Francis School has photos, memorabilia, art renderings and
